How do you say “I’m married” in Spanish: “estoy casado” or “soy casado”?
To say you are married, Spanish speakers usually say estoy casado if you are a man, estoy casada if you are a woman, with estar. The same pattern covers estoy soltero / soltera (single) and estoy viudo / viuda (widowed). You will also hear soy casado, soy soltero and soy viudo with ser; both are correct and understood everywhere, estar is simply the more common choice. What must not change is the -o / -a ending, which matches you.
