英式英语里 “settee” 是什么意思？

在英式英语中，settee 指一种长软座椅，可供两三人就坐。美国人把同一种东西叫 couch 或 sofa。英国人这三个词都用，但 settee 听起来很地道，在英格兰北部更常见。所以当英国朋友说 “Sit on the settee” 时，意思就是 “Sit on the sofa”。

视频里列举房间物品时说：“There isn’t anybody sitting on the settee either.” 也可以这样用：Come and sit on the settee. 这是英国家庭里非常普通、日常的一个词。
